But I'm sad to say, I'm on my way
Won't be back for many a day
My heart is down, my head is turning around
I had to leave a little girl in Kingston town

Pretty much the mood now. I have always loved the haunting chorus of Jamaica Farewell.

Almost 3:00 am in the morning. Sitting now at the CC with most of my tasks done. Wish I had this song
playing by me right now.

All my bags are packed
Im ready to go
Im standin here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breakin
Its early morn
The taxis waitin
Hes blowin his horn
Already Im so lonesome
I could die

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that youll wait for me
Hold me like youll never let me go
cause Im leavin on a jet plane
Dont know when Ill be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

Theres so many times Ive let you down
So many times Ive played around
I tell you now, they dont mean a thing
Evry place I go, Ill think of you
Evry song I sing, Ill sing for you
When I come back, Ill bring your wedding ring

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that youll wait for me
Hold me like youll never let me go
cause Im leavin on a jet plane
Dont know when Ill be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

Now the time has come to leave you
One more time
Let me kiss you
Then close your eyes
Ill be on my way
Dream about the days to come
When I wont have to leave alone
About the times, I wont have to say

Oh, kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that youll wait for me
Hold me like youll never let me go
cause Im leavin on a jet plane
Dont know when Ill be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

But, Im leavin on a jet plane
Dont know when Ill be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

32nd Annual Convocation - IIM Bangalore

Post Graduate Diploma in Management... And that's about it. The last L^2 as a student of this institute is underway. I still remember my first L^2 vividly. And the change I've undergone in the time that passed between them have been unbelievable.

Perhaps I shall write more later. For now...

The end of a road is just the signal for a new beginning. Don't cry because it's over. Smile, because it happened.

My new toy

I think one of my 'most hated by friends' accessories has been my last phone, a Nokia 2650, a very trusted companion till it gave way to old age and stopped showing me anything.

I loved the phone. I loved its retro look, its flip top, its easy to use features, something that told me that a phone is just a phone.

But anyway, with replacing the LCD screen costing almost as much as the cost of a new phone, I decided to switch. (As a Nokia loyalist till now, of course to Nokia). And here it is, the Nokia 6600. The judgement is awaited as I still try to figure out all the features.

The Namesake

Back to where I started from. A very brief visit. Few family responsibilities. Meeting my best Friend for over 18 years now and he takes me to see The Namesake. People still ask me about my decision and I still am confident that I made the right one.

Wait for these two series...
1. The Changed Calcutta Chronicle
2. A Bong in MalluLand - a story of psychically similar travels.

And yes.. as a glimpse of a changed Cal.. When I was small the buses had written on them this line, "50 and 100 rupees change will not be given." Today I read, "500 and 1000 rupees change will not be given."

PS: No bracket. Life is not good without it.

I know it's late

But things have been hectic and net connection at home sucks. Have written things which might just pass for unrated public consumption and shall post them by Monday Midnight.

And yes, it's my convocation on Monday.

Choices

Between Iron Maiden live at Bangalore and the cloud soaked tea estates of Munnar. Easy choice. Always. See for yourself.

Choices should live up to expectations. Now that's the right thoght, detective.

3 things I love about Bangalore

Well, actually I have been in Bangalore for almost 25 months now. The first 6 months were amazing. Staying with your wing, earning your first stipend, giving interviews, realizing that you'll join IIM Bangalore soon, everything made the world around you look amazing. And then, for two years it was Billekahalli all along. Life stopped within the 100 acres of our beautiful campus. And now it's time to bid goodbye. But before that these are the 3 best things I have loved about this city.

1. Java City - Absolute must. It's an amazing feeling to sit at this coffee joint and listen to a live band belt out old Jazz masterpieces. Church Street is just an amazing place to hang out. And there's always K.C.Dass for the bongs.

2. Rex and Symphony - There are no places I know where you can watch a movie at the balcony in 50 bucks. yeah, the offer's on at the morning show only but then you have the whole M.G.Road area to explore and have a nice lunch at any of the nearby places (Tandoor, Three Quarteres Chinese, Mainland China, Angeethi would be nice choices).

3. Sahib Sindh Sultan/ Samarkhand - I love these 2 places not only for their kebabs but for their entire ambience. In marketing we talk about service premiums. These places are the ones that deserve those premiums. If you are looking for value for money, try the Andra style full meals at places like Nandhinis. I have had ones ranging from 17 bucks to 70 bucks and they all somehow have been satusfying.

The list goes on and on. But the point is being the foodie that I am, my favourites are highly skewed towards food. Bangalore has been good to me on this front at least.

Anyway I think it's time to move on...

Off to God's own country tonight.

Technically still a student

But what the hell... The die is cast and I have chosen. What transpires in the future is in the hands of fate. And all in all, I guess I am happy as usual. But that's not the point.

As I try to figure out how life changing these two years have been I realize that maybe, just maybe, I have become more objective in some aspects of life. For example, blogging. I never understood why I did not like blogging (neither do I now) but I realize that perhaps this is one way I could talk to all the people I have met on my way.

Student Life has been an amazing experience. Be it at Park Circus, Pilani or Billekahalli I have known an amazing set of people and almost all of them on a personal basis. And maybe while I am on my travels around the country, I can imagine me speaking to them through this blog.

And then I can feel at home with friends.

Before we begin

It's not wrong to chicken out. What's wrong is to accept it and never try to change.
